For the first time, the most appreciated collection of the Gennext category of Lakme Fashion Week Summer Resort 2010 – “No Class” – was displayed at the Inter National Institute of Fashion Design (INIFD) Jaipur.
The designer collection – No Class by INIFD student designer Sabah Khan was displayed by the top models of the national and International fame like Candice Pinto, Monique Strydom, Fiona Melissa Thomas, Kanistha Dhankhar, Lisa Haydon, Jyothsna Chakravarthy, Hemangi Pate and many more at the India’s biggest platform Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2010 at Hotel Grand Hyatt Mumbai.
INIFDian Sabah’s collection – No Class- scorched the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week and besides being appreciated by the national and international media, buyers, merchandisers and the glitterati. INIFD student Designer Sabah displayed her designer collection at Lakme Fashion Week alongwith the top designers like Manish Malhotra, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Rocky S, Vikram Phadnis, Suneet Verma who also appreciated the dazzling creativity and breath taking freshness of her work.
Sabah is having a passion for fashion and her institute INIFD has made it possible for her to accomplish the dreams as INIFD is the official knowledge partner to Lakme Fashion Week.
Sabah as a budding designer is fresh with inspiration and optimistic on Fashion. Her inspiration varied from Gothic glamour to the slums of Dharvi. INIFD has always taken steps to promote the young design talent and as Official Knowledge Partner to Lakme Fashion Week, we have made the dream come true for many of our students.
INIFD has striven hard to take Fashion education to masses by opening centers from metros to small towns and through its 180 centers, INIFD is providing quality education to AAM ADMI right at their doorstep and this quest has borne fruit with the selection of INIFD designers presenting their collection at the biggest fashion forum of Lakme Fashion Week.
Star Designer Sabah Khan is more experimental towards lifestyle. Under her mentor Narender Kumar’s guidance, Sabah has explored the new trendy and funky thought of expression. Not afraid to embrace the rare of the rarest creations “SABASHE” is one such brand for young women. The Theme for Sabah’s collection is ‘No Class’ gets inspiration from, lifestyles of the people dwelling in slums of Dharavi. The perfect blend of colors, culture, traditions, economic dominance, colors schemes, and digital prints incorporated; reflect the charm, joy and energy of a city within the city of Mumbai.
The fabrics used in this collection are linens, cottons and mulls, which work great with the Indian summer. The cuts and silhouettes are varying, as it is a key – piece collection. It is definitely a mix and match of vibrant bights teamed with earthy neutrals.
Sabah says, “I believe that fashion comes out of the most unpredictable places and perceive fashion as depiction of various aspects of life as they unfold. I am quite observant about things around me and love bringing creativity in it giving it a meaning and shape. All my designs are quite contemporary and go with people from all walks of life.”
