INIFD Jaipur organized Cultural Week from 22nd December to 27th 2014. . “ZEST 2014” is the Theme for the event in which students participated in different activities & competitions: Talent arena (dances & skit competition),Galleria (Talent Hunt), Fashion & Hungama (Fashion Show & The INIFD Rock Band), Halla Bol (Sports & Games) for getting a platform to show their talent in various fields including designing. It will be 5 days event.
The week was inaugurated by Director of INIFD Jaipur Mrs. Kamla Poddar along with students &staff members flew balloons in air giving a splash of primary colours to the sky and day the GANESH VANDANA marked the auspicious beginning of the inter-house competition between Earth, Mars and Venus of INIFD.
On the first day the chilly morning began with Dance Competition “Talent Arena” .The competition were held in three categories SOLO, DUET & GROUP. In Solo performance, one of the student Kartik Kumawat showed the foot tapping dance styles HIP-HOP, Locking-Popping, Contemporary, and Bollywood.
Keeping pace with our culture & tradition a student, Anil reminded all about our rich culture by his spectacular performance on Contemporary dance, which was further added by a beautiful dance showcased by Chandni Malpani.
The round continued with the “DUET & GROUP” dance performances in which INIFD students showcased their dance skills along with props like sticks, rings, balloons etc., and depicting themes.
In Group performances, there was a cultural round and western dance round, Students of Earth group presented Folk dance which represented Rajasthani & Punjabi mix folk dance. Mars Group presented Raas Lila from Krishna Nagari. The performers danced with great enthusiasm with all colorful outfits representing the different states and their cultures. There was also a set of western dance where all the houses presented a Zara-Hut-K dances.
There were two categories in the drama competition “THE NAUTANKI” on social and humor, each house presented small skits with an urge to inspire each one present in the campus whether social or humorous. In Venus House, they played, “Kanya” a play depicting the present condition of the girls in a society which calls itself literate & a developing society depicting brutal assets & struggle for justice. In Earth House, they played on “Atankwaad Aur Hum”, our society which is already suffering with evils like eve-teasing, corruption and recent killings of small school children. There was a lesson in every act of the participants. The spectators on one side were enjoying with laughter also brought tears into the eyes of the spectators whilst enjoying the skits.
The students wanted to showcase that we all are responsible in some way or the other for the presence of these evils in our society and we should together standup to remove these evils for ourselves and our coming generations.
The Cultural week would be a 5 days mega event in which
Galleria (Talent Hunt) on 2nd day, Fashion Show & Hungama on 3rd day, Halla-Bol on 4th day & closing ceremony on 5th day, with “On the Rocks-New Year Evening Celebration party on winter/festive theme”
Mrs Kamla Poddar Chairperson of Kamla Poddar Institute & Director of INIFD Jaipur said “we always look forward for the different ways of enhancing the creativity and self innovations of the budding Designers. These kind of extracurricular activities are the best ways to showcasing the creative nature of the students. Overall, it’s a great platform for designer students to show their talent, which also boom the self confidence and esteem of every participant” .
